Galdhøpiggen stands at 2,469 metres — the highest point in Norway, in Scandinavia and in all of Northern Europe. This is the flagship trip: a full day out of Oslo to the roof of the continent and back, with your private guide leading you all the way to the summit.
We pick you up at 05:00 and drive five hours northwest to Juvasshytta (1,841m), Norway's highest mountain hotel, accessible by road. From there the summer route climbs through a dramatic high-alpine landscape of rock, scree and sweeping ridgelines to the broad summit at 2,469m. On a clear day the view encompasses an enormous sweep of Norway — lakes, ridgelines and valleys in every direction, with nothing higher anywhere in the country.
We descend the same way, with time for a warm meal at Juvasshytta before the drive home. We're back in Oslo around midnight. It's a long day — and an unforgettable one.
Yes — it's a very long day but entirely doable. We pick you up from your hotel in Oslo at 05:00, drive five hours northwest to Juvasshytta (1,841m), hike to the summit at 2,469m and back, then drive home. You'll be back in Oslo around midnight — approximately 19 hours door to door.
We rate it Challenging. The hike is 5–7 hours of high-alpine terrain — rock, scree and open ridgelines above 2,000m. No technical climbing is required, but good fitness and some prior mountain experience are strongly recommended. The altitude above 2,400m can affect some people.
